Accreditation 2016 - Professional Recognition for NSW Early Childhood Teachers
From 18 July 2016, all NSW early childhood teachers working in long day care and preschools must be accredited by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES).
Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs) who have already applied for accreditation and met the requirements should have received notification of their accreditation at Proficient Teacher.
If you have not yet applied for accreditation and you teach in an early childhood service you must apply online.
You also need to post to BOSTES:
certified copies (Justice of the Peace signed) of your ACECQA approved or recognised teaching qualification
- certified copies of two forms of identification, eg drivers licence, passport or birth certificate
evidence of a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
a Statement of Service on employer letterhead, signed by your employer and verifying your employment as an early childhood teacher in a NSW early childhood education and care service (please ensure the letter confirms the dates you have been working as an ECT at that service).
