The NSW Electoral Commission has called for nominations for the election of the Quality Teaching Council.

Ten members of the Council are elected through six different electoral colleges. The electoral colleges are:

  • government school teachers (five members to be elected)
  • government primary school principals (one member to be elected)
  • government secondary school principals (one member to be elected)
  • Catholic systemic school teachers (one member to be elected)
  • Catholic systemic school principals (one member to be elected)
  • independent school teachers and principals (one member to be elected).

To be eligible to stand for election, you must be enrolled in the appropriate electoral college and be a practising teacher or principal. You do not need to be accredited with the Institute to be eligible to stand.

You must be nominated by two people enrolled to vote in the relevant electoral college.
