Criteria for the appointment of New Scheme Teachers
The Research Digest has been developed by the Australian College for Education Research (ACER) for the NSW Institute of Teachers. It will be published periodically throughout the year. It is anticipated there will be no more than four editions per year. Each edition will focus on a single topical issue affecting quality teaching.
To assess the content of each Research Digest prior to publication, the Institute will establish a Reference Group. The Reference Group will have 9 members, four of which will be appointed from the education sectors, one member from the NSW Institute of Teachers, and four new scheme teachers, one of which will be from the Department of Education and Training and working in a rural area.
New scheme teachers interested in being part of the Reference Group should meet the following criteria:

currently employed as a new scheme teacher in a NSW school

accredited at the level of Professional Competence

possess a demonstrable interest in educational and/or specific subject teacher research topics
-
capacity to work effectively in a team environment
-
possess a demonstrable interest and experience in publications either as a writer, researcher or editor
-
be available to attend up to four full day meetings per year
The Institute will cover all travel costs and teacher relief.

Those interested in being part of the Reference Group should meet the following criteria:
