Interim arrangements apply to teachers accredited at Professional Competence before 1 May 2008 as they were accredited before the NSW Institute of Teachers’ PD website of Registered courses was fully operational.
For this reason, teachers accredited before May 2008 and unable to complete the 50 hours of Institute Registered continuing professional development are able to use up to ten hours per year of Teacher Identified professional development to count towards Institute Registered professional development until the end of 2008.
For example, if a teacher achieved Professional Competence in 2006 up to 30 hours (10 hours in each of 2006, 2007 and 2008) of Teacher Identified professional development may contribute towards to their Institute Registered professional development at the end of your maintenance of accreditation period.
