ITEC Meeting 28 Feb 08

Meeting Update:

  • Draft Supplementary Documentation Relating to Professional Experience was endorsed for forwarding to the Institute’s Quality Teaching Council for approval for stakeholder consultation.
  • Enhancements to the Institute’s website were previewed. The website now provides comprehensive information for teacher education institutions on the program approval process.
  • Proposed discussions with institutions in relation to Bachelor of Education 4th year ‘upgrade’ programs and the Institute’s Professional Teaching Standards were supported.
  • Three initial teacher education programs were recommended for approval to the Minister through the Chair of the Institute.
