The ITEC
recommended approval of four initial teacher education programs.
Draft professional experience requirements
The ITEC
considered the responses from Deans/Heads of Education. The ITEC agreed to the concept of limiting the counting of professional experience days in educational settings other than schools and limiting the counting of professional experience days involving observation rather than the direct act of teaching. The ITEC agreed to the revised draft being forwarded to the Quality Teaching Council meeting of 11 December 2008 for consideration.
