Guide To Completing Your Preliminary Application

A preliminary application is available for you that is designed to predict your likelihood of success at the higher levels. You should answer the questions to the preliminary application as authentically and honestly as you can.

Undertaking the preliminary application will cost you $60.

1.    Before you begin, have a good look at the Professional Teaching Standards for the level you are seeking (NB accreditation at Professional Competence for existing teachers will be available shortly - we'll keep you posted).

2.    Want to give the preliminary application a try? Go to My Account (you will find this on the left hand menu of the Institute's website).

3.    Click on Teacher Higher Levels.

4.    Click on Create a new account.

5.    You will be provided with a logon and password. Use these to access the options in the Teacher Higher Levels login area.

6.    Once you've logged in you will be given the choice of some menu options - choose either Professional Accomplishment or Professional Leadership.

7.    Choose Preliminary Application.

8.    At this stage, you will be requested to pay your $60. You are not able to proceed until you have paid this fee. You can pay by either credit card or by cheque.

9.    Proceed with your preliminary application.

10.   A staff member from the Institute will be able to provide you with feedback based on the responses to your questions and give you clear view of your readiness to proceed with an application for accreditation.
