Accreditation fees are payable from the date of approval to teach in government schools and from the date of accreditation or date of first employment in non-government schools (whichever comes first).

A receipt for fees paid will be mailed with an accreditation card.

The Institute has simplified its billing system to streamline costs and improve efficiency. With effect from 2008, the following conditions are attached to accreditation fees due and payable:

  • Leave of absence fee has been abolished.
  • Pro rata billing is no longer possible.
  • Changes to accreditation status for the current year, such as withdrawal or leave of absence, must be made prior to the date of annual billing each year (1) or within three months of initial advice of accreditation for newly accredited teachers. If received by this date, there is no annual fee payable for the current year.
  • Changes to accreditation status made after the date of annual billing each year or after three months from initial advice of accreditation for newly accredited teachers, are processed, but the annual fee is due and payable for the current year.
  • The fee payable by newly accredited teachers with an accreditation date on or after 1 September will be the anticipated fee for the following year. The fee will cover the period until 31 December of the following year and will include the anticipated price increase for the following year.
  • The fee payable by newly accredited teachers with an accreditation date on or before 31 August will be the current year's annual fee and cover the current year only.
  • The fee payable for any reactivation of accreditation requested on or after 1 September each year will be the anticipated annual fee for the following year. It will cover the period to 31 December of the following year and will include the anticipated price increase.
  • The fee payable for any reactivation of accreditation requested on or before 31 August each year will be the current year's annual fee and will cover the current year only.
